On Friday night, I went to eat at Texas de Brazil in Memphis for my birthday. Memphis is only a short one hour drive from where I live. While I was there, we met up with Alyssa from Ten Feet off Beale and her boyfriend! I have to say, I was a bit nervous because I'm not the most social person in the world. I never know what to say, what to talk about or how to act around people I don't know but after meeting her I didn't feel awkward at all so that was nice. Alyssa and her boyfriend are SO nice and funny and I had a really good time!
I also got bitten about a million times by some mosquitoes while we were sitting around talking and if you think I'm exaggerating, well... I might be a little but not much. See that picture below? Yeah, those are my awesome mosquito bites. They were all over my feet/ankles and both legs (only one leg is shown, obv). Sorry you have to see my gross pasty legs but I really like showing off my mosquito bites. I haven't gotten West Nile yet (that I know of) so I like to think I'm beating the odds. Needless to say, I've been wearing jeans since Friday so I don't scare people.
I can relate. Mosquito's love me! They especially like my feet these days which makes wearing flip clops..or any shoe, really, quite uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteI haven't met anyone from online in YEARS. I use to do it all the time back in early 2000 when I only had 1 child to worry about. It would be awkward for me though because I'm socially awkward and don't know how to filter myself. Random, strange comment but I wish I had your skin tone. Can we trade please?!
ReplyDeleteLOL you are too funny! I swear, I attract mosquitoes wherever I go. My boyfriend jokes that he doesn't need to wear bug spray, all he has to do is bring me along and they'll be too busy swarming me to notice anyone else! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! Oh my goodness, you must be scratching like crazy..I got bitten in Thailand so badly once that they developed into welts and I ended up going to see a Doctor at a hospital on one of the islands! Also pulled out the long trousers to cover the worst of it...
ReplyDeleteHope it feels better soon!

Oh my, all of those mosquito bites! I thought I had it bad when I'd gotten bitten at least 25 times one summer, but that's nothing compared to what happened to you. Poor thing! :( I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteI would die if I had that many mosquito bites! Here in DC the mosquitoes are pretty bad too. They get even worse when you get out into Northern Virginia. But worst of all... I get bit and then the next day they have swollen to the size of a silver dollar and they just keep spreading until they disappear. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm allergic or something. UGH!
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog... Love it!

Oh my gosh those mosquito bites look awful!! Seriously there are some people that mosquitos just go to way more than others (I am one of those people, too).
