10 Things You Probably Don't Know About Me

July 20, 2012

- I am OBSESSED with cupcakes. I even have a domain name and website designed for my future dream business. I even started on a business plan for it but am no where close to being finished. Will it every happen? Honestly? Probably not... but I like dreaming :)

- I suffer from arachnophobia. I'm probably being a bit dramatic but I am absolutely terrified of spiders and it is a fear that affects my day-to-day life. I have to remove every pillow, sheet, blanket, etc from my bed one by one and shake it out every night before I go to sleep. I shake out and inspect every towel before use and every piece of clothing I plan to wear before I put it on. I never walk around barefoot at night or in the dark. When I walk in to a room, I look over the entire ceiling, wall, floor, etc before I feel comfortable. It's pretty ridiculous but I can't help it!

- Have you ever noticed my hair looks the same in EVERY. SINGLE. PHOTO? That's because it's stick straight and stubborn and will not do anything else but lay this one way. Teasing? Falls flat within 10 seconds. Curls? They don't even form. Waves? I successfully created waves in my hair ONCE just a couple of months ago but then went CUH-RAZY after a few hours and I had to put it into a ponytail.

- I tried to be Christina Aguilera from her Dirrty phase once. I even braided strips of black fabric throughout my hair and glued a fake piercing to my chin. I'm sure my parents thought I was on drugs.

- I've never done drugs. I've never wanted to. I think they're trashy.

- I had a terrible southern accent when I was a kid. As I grew older I started to hate it. I thought it made me sound uneducated and ignorant so I spent HOURS as a teenager listening to people on TV talk and trying to pick up on speaking without an accent. Now, people I meet around here don't think I have a southern accent at all but people up north can sometimes pick up on it. But if I'm really mad it comes out, haha.

- I've never had surgery. I've only been in the hospital two different times. The first time I was 11 years old and ran straight into a barbwire fence that was concealed by some shrubbery. It cut a gash all the way across my right eyelid down to my eyeball (but somehow missed my eyeball). I had 16 stitches. The next (and last) time was obviously when I had Aiden.

- I was induced with Pitocin and labored for 4 hours with Aiden and did not have an epidural. I had a dose of Stadol (God bless that drug). I had a wonderful labor and can't wait to do it again someday! But the next time, I want to do it without Stadol as well.

- Why didn't I have an epidural? I'm terrified of needles. I went to a birthing class at the local hospital and the first class they showed an epidural needle. From that point on I said "F---- THAT!" and decided right then and there I was NOT going to have an epidural (unless I had to have a c-sec of course).

- Even though I'm scared of needles I have a tattoo and I wasn't nervous a bit to get it. Probably because the needle is to tiny you can't even really see it so I pretty much just made myself believe I was getting drawn on with a pen. It's on my lower right hip. It means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I got it at midnight on my 18th birthday because I thought it was pretty. And I still do. I don't regret it at all.

  1. That last one could have come directly out of my mouth. Terrified of needles, check. Meaningless tattoo, check. Lower right hip, check. Midnight 18th birthday check.

  2. hahaha I remember the Dirrty phase! I think I took your leftover fabric and tried to copy you and you got mad or something? Or maybe I'm just making that part up.
